St. Francis Advocate Foundation started in 1994 as Child Rights Organization, working to protect the rights and well-being of women and children in the South East region of Nigeria. Over the years, the organization expanded its mission to include a broader focus on women's rights and sustainable development, and in January 2025, it was rebranded as St. Francis Advocate Foundation for Women and Children Rights. With a 25-year history of effective advocacy in social and legal services and community engagement and award of scholarships, the foundation is committed to creating lasting positive change for women, children, and youths in the region, nation and the world at large.

Our mission is to advocate for the rights and well-being of women and children by providing comprehensive support services, including healthcare, education, social welfare, agricultural training, and economic empowerment programs. Through our work, we strive to eliminate gender-based discrimination, violence, and inequality, and create a more just and equitable society where women and children can thrive.

Vision: To create a world where women and children are empowered to reach their full potential, free from discrimination, violence, and inequality, by providing access to quality education, healthcare, social services, and economic opportunities that promote dignity, justice, and well-being.

Support Our Mission

Aims & Objectives

Here are aims and objectives for St. Francis Advocate Foundation for Women and Children Rights.

  1. To facilitate the establishment of healthcare facilities in underserved communities, providing access to essential medical services for women, young people and children.
  2. To advocate for the provision of scholarships and educational resources to enable women and children attend school and complete their education even as adults.
  3. To conduct awareness campaigns and advocacy initiatives to promote gender equality and combat discrimination against women and children especially those born out of wedlock.
  4. To provide microloans and business training to women and young people to help them start and grow their own businesses.
  5. To support local farmers through agricultural training programs, promoting sustainable farming practices and increasing crop yields.
  6. To offer counseling and support services to women and children who have experienced trauma, abuse, or discrimination.
  7. To provide safe and affordable housing for women and children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
  8. Establish a demonstration farm where non-farmers can receive hands-on training in sustainable farming practices.
  9. To develop a curriculum that covers topics such as crop selection, soil management, pest control, and marketing to foster entrepreneurship.
  10. Provide accommodation (farm settlement) and other support services for trainees who are living on the farm during agricultural training programs.
  11. Offer microloans or other financing options to help trainees start their own farming businesses after completing the program or Agricultural Value System.
  12. Monitor and evaluate the impact of the training program on participants' economic status and overall well-being, and use the data to continuously improve the program.
  13. Collaborate with government ministries like the Ministry of Women Affairs to promote gender equality and women's rights through joint projects and initiatives.
  14. Build partnerships with international organizations and donor agencies to leverage expertise and resources for promoting the rights and well-being of women, young people and children.
  1. Conduct advocacy campaigns to influence government policies and legislation that protect women and children from discrimination and violence.
  2. Provide microloans and business training to women and youth to foster entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.
  3. Offer counseling and support services to women and children who have experienced trauma or abuse.
  4. To advocate for the rights of women and children especially the right to own property, the right to education and the right to human dignity.
  5. To advocate for a child's right to family and foster parents especially for abandoned children through the social welfare of the State.
  6. To be involved in research for the betterment of our economic and social environment.
  7. To advance activities to enlighten women and young people on the importance of good leadership, good followership, and good governance for the peace of our country.
  8. To create platforms for settlement of disputes through arbitration, to uphold truth and culture and foster peace for generations unborn.
  9. Collaborating with other NGOs, Government Agencies like the Social Welfare and other stakeholders to address complex issues affecting women and children, especially on their rights and curtailing social vices.
  10. Partner with government agencies, such as the Ministry of Health or Ministry of Education, to implement joint programs and initiatives that align with the foundation's goals and objectives.
  11. Work with international organizations, such as UNICEF or the World Health Organization, to leverage their expertise and resources in promoting the rights of women and children.
  12. Seek funding and support from donor organizations and foundations that share the foundation's mission and values.
  13. Participate in joint research and advocacy initiatives with academic institutions and think tanks to gather data and evidence to support the foundation's work.
